Formosa 120 GR
Phenomenal 1962 Formosa 120GR. This particular Formosa-built 50's racer is the very first car ever built by English Formosa. So everything they built after that is based on this very first car. The chassis and technology are based on the Triumph Vitesse. So this beautiful racer is equipped with the 6 cylinder inline engine from the Triumph Vitesse and produces a good 110 horsepower. That's a lot of HP for a car of this light weight. The gearbox, of course, is also from the Triumph. The body and tubular body frame is completely in-house built by the English factory Formosa. The entire body is new, incredibly nice paint job and super tight sheet metal. The molds of the sheet metal were made together with this car. The new body is polyester and the cockpit is completely finished in aluminum, beautiful. The windshield is lexan and custom made for this Formosa as are the headlight covers. The engine and gearbox were completely overhauled and all the mechanical components were overhauled and renewed. The Stromberg carburetors have been overhauled and fitted with sporty K&N filters. For safety, the car has been fitted with disc brakes. An aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fin has been installed. New chrome wire wheels and tires ensure proper contact with the road or track. Perfectly seated bucket seats and a period correct wooden steering wheel make you feel right at home in this special cockpit, you imagine yourself in the 50's. Photos of the entire build are available, starting with a bare chassis. Whoever is looking for a very special car has certainly found it. The car has the correct papers, import duties and VAT have been paid. So he can easily be registered anywhere! If necessary we can arrange transport for you for a fair price.
