Landrover Minerva Series 1, 1952
What a tremendously fun toy we have now found. A 1952 Landrover Minerva Series 1. The Land Rover Minerva is based on the Landrover Series 1 as made between 1948 and 1953 in 80-inch form In England. The Belgian Army needed a replacement for the old Willy's Jeep. Chosen was the Landrover, they were delivered in Mortsel (Antwerp ) at Minerva as a chassis with engine and bulkhead by Landrover. In the Belgian factory da cars were finished. The body was made of steel and the typical articulated fenders were simply easier to make. A total of 8400 Minervas were built. This is a completely original and untouched example. The chassis is rock solid and the sheet metal is clean, hard and dent free. The original two-piece doors are still with it. The entire doors can be taken out so you can drive open and exposed. The top of the doors can also be removed separately, which is how you drive it most often. The hood and soft top are easy to install/remove. Roll up the rear window and have fun. The windshield frame then folds down to go completely naked. The series 1 features Landrover's beefy 2 liter, 4 cylinder. High yaw and low yaw, 2WD and 4WD, everything works perfectly. The engine and transmission are technically in great condition. Because of the low weight these cars have a great reputation, many a bigger and heavier 4x4 does not get to places where this Minerva can, it plows through everything. You don't polish a car like this, it's supposed to look like this, it's supposed to drive through the woods, countryside or on a farm. What outdoor enthusiast goes for a nice rumble through the woods, goes for a walk with the dogs or gets hay for his horses or sheep?
