Triumph Vitesse MKII Overdrive, 1971
In the early 1960s, Triumph caused a stir. The Michelotti-designed Triumph Vitesse was unveiled. The refreshing combination of a light, fast, compact car surprised everyone. The subsequent Triumph Vitesse Mk II with a large six-cylinder engine felt smoother, torquey and much more desirable. As convertibles they are becoming scarce and highly sought after .This beautiful Cherry red Vitesse is a car that was completely restored years ago. The car has been very well maintained over the years, belonging to the same owner since 1997. He has driven and cherished the car all these years. The paintwork is very clean and nice, smooth and rust free. The engine was overhauled 1.5 years ago by a Dutch classic car garage, one of our good customers and a specialist in British classic cars. What a smooth engine that 2 liter six-cylinder is, incredible. 104 hp is a lot for early 70s and for a car of this low weight. The overdrive gearbox shifts perfectly, super smooth. There are not many classic 4-seater convertibles from Britain, these MKIIs were only produced for a few years. Only 3472 of them were made! A rarely seen car these days, rare! The interior of this car is very clean and finished in black vinyl. The wooden dashboard and wooden door moldings match perfectly. The car has a black vinyl soft top and a black vinyl hood cover . The car has beautiful shiny new chrome wire wheels, this matches the cherry red paint perfectly. Would you like to try this 6 cylinder with your wife and kids, or with friends? Huge space for everyone. Who is going to enjoy this mighty Vitesse?
